Flannel Flower Earrings. Made in Australia from our original hand painted design, these earrings are printed with eco-friendly inks onto light weight, sustainably grown hoop pine and paired with stainless steel hoops, perfect for sensitive ears! Actinotus helianthin known as the flannel flower and sukikh in the Dharawal language is a small hardy shrub that mainly grows in the sandy coastal heathlands of eastern NSW and Victoria. It has distinctive silvery grey-green foliage, covered in soft flannel like hair and produces velvety, creamy-white daisy shaped flowers in spring and summer. The flannel flower was the original floral emblem for NSW and is now the national symbol of The Mental Health Council of Australia. Traditionally used for a wide range of anti-inflammatory and antiseptic purposes. Seen as a symbol of healing, renewal, resilience, the ability to adapt to change and is also associated with sensitivity, gentleness and expressing feelings.
